Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Casa Nigeria mobile apps (Android package com.casahomesnigeria.app and the iOS app), the website casahomesnigeria.com, and Casa Nigeria on WhatsApp. Casa Nigeria (“Casa”, “we”) is a housing marketplace that helps people in Nigeria search for homes and contact landlords.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Information we collect

Account. Your phone number, and your name if you provide one. Login codes are sent through WhatsApp.
Messages and searches. What you type in WhatsApp or the app, including area, budget, property type, and saved homes.
Location. Precise location only when you allow it, to search near you or to pin a listing. You can refuse this permission and still search by typing a place name.
Photos, videos, and microphone. Listing photos, walkthrough videos, and landlord ID photos you choose from your camera or photo library. The microphone is used only while you record a listing video.
Identity documents. Images and details from documents a landlord submits for verification, such as a NIN slip or passport.
Notifications. A push token for this device if you allow notifications, so we can tell you about saved searches and listing activity.
Technical data. IP address, device and app version, and logs needed to run and secure the service.

How we use information

To create your account and sign you in
To show listings, run searches, and connect tenants with landlords
To store and display listing photos and videos
To check landlord identity documents and moderate listings
To send login codes, support replies, and notifications you asked for
To keep the service secure, fix faults, and meet legal duties

Who we share information with

We share data only as needed to run Casa Nigeria:

Other users. Listing details you publish (such as rent, area, photos, and description) are shown to people searching Casa. A landlord’s phone number is shown to a tenant only after that tenant unlocks the contact.
Meta Platforms (WhatsApp). To deliver messages and login codes to your WhatsApp number.
Cloudinary. To store and deliver listing photos and videos.
Google. To show maps in the app when you view a location.
Anthropic. To read messages, listing text, and ID photos you submit, so Casa can understand searches and check that a document shows a name.
Expo. To deliver push notifications to your device.
Hosting providers. Railway and our database and cache providers store the data needed to run the service.

These providers process data on our instructions to provide the feature you used. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to investigate fraud or abuse.

Children

Casa Nigeria is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Retention

We keep account, message, and listing data while your account is active and for as long as needed to operate the service, prevent fraud, and meet legal duties. You can ask us to delete your data.

Your choices and deletion

You can turn off location, camera, photos, microphone, and notifications in your phone settings. To delete your Casa Nigeria account and personal data:

In the app, open Account and use account deletion, or
Message Casa on WhatsApp and ask to delete your account, or
Email hello@casahomesnigeria.com with the subject “Delete my data”, from the phone number or email you use with Casa.

We delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period. We may keep a limited record where the law, fraud prevention, or security requires it.

Security

We send data over HTTPS. Access to production systems is limited to people who operate Casa. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continued use of Casa Nigeria after a change means you accept the updated policy.
